Health retailer Holland and Barrett are planning to launch 50 free-from dedicated stores over the next two years, with the first one launching in Chester yesterday (23rd April).
According to foodmanufacture.co.uk, the company plan to stock more than 3,000 free-from products suitable for those following gluten-free, dairy-free, egg-free, vegetarian, vegan and nut-free lifestyles.
The free-from makeover started with a Free From section on their website, making it easier for those with allergies and intolerances to find products suitable for them, and a dedicated free-from Twitter page. Now, you’ll be able to visit a free-from dedicated Holland and Barrett store near you, packed with all the dairy, gluten, soya, egg, nut and wheat free products you can imagine!

At the Chester store’s makeover launch earlier this week there was a crowd of excited visitors, celebrating by exploring the store and enjoying a street party with a free-from banquet. The new Chester store, ‘Holland and Barrett More’, features a juice bar and a vegan cafe, making it a haven for those seeking free-from foods, drinks and products.

DJ and radio presenter Jameela Jamil has been named Holland and Barrett’s free-from ambassador. She is a Coeliac Disease sufferer herself and applauds retailers like Holland and Barrett who are making it easier for those with dietary intolerances to find products they can enjoy. You can watch the video below to learn more about her free-from story and her involvement with Holland and Barrett‘s new project.
As the demand increases, Holland and Barrett‘s new stores will expand their existing range of free-from products, together with their website which already has lots to offer. We can’t wait to see what they have planned for the future.
What do you think? Excited?
